Gina 先生の送別会 June 5th, 2010

Gina is leaving us this June so please come out and give her a proper send off at Shangri-La, Nagoya's hottest new restaurant. Jojo has brought in a master chef straight in from Beijing to serve up culinary delights for us provincial Nagoyans! We've already tried the food and everything was simply exquisite.

SHANGRI-LAは名古屋初の本格薬膳中華火鍋（中華風しゃぶしゃぶ）の専門店です。店名の“シャングリラ”は、「ヒマラヤ奥地のミステリアスな永遠の楽園」や「外界から隔絶された地上の楽園」などと表現され、東洋の桃源郷とならんで理想郷の代名詞となっている、中国の雲南省デチェン蔵族自治州にある地名が由来となっております。神秘的で高級感あふれる店内で、めったに味わえない中国少数民族の料理を是非ご堪能ください。

Advantage Englishの鋤柄ふくみさんの展示会パーティー！

鋤柄ふくみは今から三年前に愛知県立芸術大学大学院油画専攻を修了している。その後も自室で描きつづけた。ひたすら自身に対峙したと見えるその作品は剥き出しで謎に満ち不可解でもある。
絵画という人知を越えようとする手伸ばしが、鉛筆、クレヨン、筆を握り、ときには切り刻む。
これが最初の個展でもある。

無料ワインテイスティング会！Let's "study" about French, German and Italian wine. (Chilean and Australian too.) ９日金曜日に2ｐｍプライベト利き酒もあります。I also have reservations for a private tasting on Friday at 2pm (if interested let me know asap) which is also free but Saturday is more casual.

2006 Chateau La Raballe (inexpensive blend , 90% メルロMerlot and 10% カベルネCabernet Sauvignon but with high value rating)
2006 Chateau de Brondeau blend: 70% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 10% Cabernet Sauvigon. Reviews by Cork'd:
"Color: inky dark purple. Nose: restrained, cherry, pine, pepper. Taste: Nice fruit, especially cherry. Moderated by a little vegetal green, not a huge finish. Good concentration, back end tannins. But at $15 a bottle, this is a good buy. Should be good for 3-5 years still."

It's sudden and ill-planned but we're going to see the awesome illuminated sakura at Yamazaki river. It's hanamibiyori, warm and full bloom so we simply must go. I went the other night and it's really worth the effort, I assure you.
Meet at Mizuhoundoujou at 8pm and then we walk. Lights are off at 9:30 then we go to drink at Huck Finn in Imaike. It's free entrance and tripped out Djs for HYPER SPACE REAL JUNK!

皆さん元気？やっと春が来ましたね。ロリエとキャリーは少し前に日本に来たのですが,忙しくてまだウェルカムパーティーをしていません。しかし！遅くなってしまいましたがパーティーをします！３月２７日,一社教室での持ち寄りパーティーになります。何か一品と自分の好きな飲み物を持って来てください。ロリエは少し作るし、お茶と焼酎は用意します。焼酎は飲み放題！(because I love 焼酎）参加費は男性1,000 円、女性500円.
スタートは6:00pm。9:00pmまでです。二次会は友達がやってるパーティー、栄のクラブ“CAFE DOMINA”で!

For the welcome dinner starting at 6:00 at Issha, it's free for native speakers! (Just help me entertain a bit.) All-you-can-drink shochu and just bring whatever else you like to drink and some snacks or a simple dish. Lorier is also cooking so there will be lots of great food! Please no smoking and everybody out by 9. We'll probably hit DOMINA first in Sakae and then head to the main event: FEVER at Plastic Factory in Imaike. I'm tired already...
